Commencing in 2018, Gypsy Tales Podcast, by Jase Macalpine, has become a cornerstone podcast in action sports, allowing a unique look into the minds of some of the world’s greatest athletes from various disciplines. 

Deriving the name from his early ‘Gypsy’ type career as a filmmaker, Jase spent significant time journeying throughout the United States with the Vurb crew, documenting the lives and careers of some of the most famous two-wheeled athletes throughout the 2010s era.

Arriving back in his homeland of Australia toward the end of the decade, Jase would shift his attention to creating the podcast from various temporary locations, before building a custom bespoke studio in Burleigh Heads.

There, the work would unfold for the years to follow, where a mixture of in-studio and remote guests would feature on the show through innovative technological solutions to provide the sports world with an ultra-polished platform to tell long-format stories.

The podcast has since amassed a following comprising a cumulative 200,000 subscribers across digital platforms, alongside 84 million views on YouTube; a number bolstered by 10 million hours of watch time, cementing the podcast as a frontrunner in the space.

For 2024 and beyond, Jase continues to build the Gypsy Tales brand through trending digital techniques, as well as partnering with Owlpine Group to assist in multiple areas relating to the podcast to help continue its growth trajectory.
