Cole Davies is a two-time champion. The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider sealed the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross 250 Championship at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana. 

It is his second national title of 2026, following the 250SX East Championship he clinched in Philadelphia earlier this year. Two championships in one season, on two of the most competitive stages in American motorsport.

The numbers behind the outdoor campaign speak for themselves. Four overall victories, seven overall podiums, and eight moto wins across the season. Davies became the first New Zealander to win an AMA National Championship and only the sixth foreign-born rider in history to claim the 250 Motocross crown – a short list that reflects just how difficult this title is to win.

“To get two championships so far this year, it’s unreal,” said Davies. “Honestly, to win it on my birthday too, you can’t even dream of this stuff. I’m just stoked to win the 250 Pro Motocross Championship. Growing up, I’ve been dreaming of this, so to do it, it’s unreal.”

Matthew Macalpine, of Owlpine Group, reflected on what the title represents. “It’s his second title of the year, following his 250 East Supercross Championship this spring, and it puts him in the record books as only the sixth foreign-born rider ever to win the 250 Motocross crown. Two national championships in one season, representing New Zealand on American soil. Incredibly proud of what Cole and his team have built this year.”

Davies now enters the SuperMotocross World Championship playoffs as the No. 1 seed in 250SMX, with the series opener set for Columbus, Ohio on September 12.
